Rainy Days and Opportunities

For some of us rainy gray days can be really difficult. The sun becomes a distant light and instead we are faced with cold and darkness, wet, almost wintery skies and the slower pace that for some feels jarring.

Have you ever considered that with this change, we are given an opportunity to slow down, take stock in what is truly important, set our priorities, reconsider our goals and dreams and check in with ourselves more often to see what we really need and want.

Sometimes in seasons of change instead of pushing ourselves to be something that will conflict with our desires we need to take more time to focus inward.

This time of year is filled with busyness, with gatherings that are often times difficult , when people expect us to agree on opinions or let go of strained relationships that may or may not have been resolved. Often feelings have been hurt or we haven’t forgiven past actions, or we have emotions that we weren’t quite ready to experience. It can be complicated.

In my world of work with emotions I have found that allowing ourselves to stop, and listen to what is in our heart and to allow ourselves to feel what is in our bodies, recognizing the emotion and where it’s felt is far easier than trying to make sense of it in our mind. It has been proven that 80% of what we feel begins in the body and then goes to the brain, while only 20% begins in the brain and then goes to the body. Think about that for just a moment.

If that is true then where would it make more sense to begin when working with your emotions. EFT or emotional freedom technique is a technique that has been proven both by evidence and by science itself, often with MRI’s and other evidence based methods, to not only calm and regulate the emotions but to actually physically change the neural pathways and the way they work to disrupt our negative patterns of reaction and response to stress and to be replaced with positive neurons built very quickly with the work that we do.

By releasing those negative patterns that are triggered in our nervous system, and experiencing the emotions that have been building up in our bodies possibly for a very long time, we are then given the opportunity to explore different choices and different patterns of positive change.

Underneath all of that hurt of human experiences we are able to encounter so much more joy, peace and love that has always been there but has been hidden from view and subdued by suffering. We find that life truly can be different and that there is so much more beauty in and around us that we have more access to.

Weather the pain and hurt is from the past or more recent present events, this gift can allow us to live more effectively. I refer to it as a gift because of how it has affected my own life.
I now have a way to use the techniques that I have learned and worked with for fifteen years not only to help others to be more aware and to heal their wounds and their negative patterns, but I have also been given the tools to heal from many years of my own early childhood trauma and fear.

I am grateful every single day for the opportunity that has made my own healing journey a reality, not just a possibility. I no longer have to live with guilt and shame for what was done to me, and gradually every step of the way I see more and more light.

Healing is not a fast track to happiness. It’s work and sometimes it’s harder than I would like it to be, but step by step, little by little I can see and feel the difference. I am also privileged to still be able to do this work with my clients as I do my own work.

I knew when I found coaching and emotion work that this was my purpose and passion and that I wanted to help as many women as I possibly could reach the highest potential possible for themselves.

If you want to learn more about how this process can help you heal from anything that is holding you back, Let’s talk!
You can schedule a free 45 minute session with me at the link below and we can explore your possibilities and opportunities for increased joy and peace in this world that is so full of chaos and overwhelm.

With love,

Marianne
